‘Absolute disgrace’ – Some Spurs fans react furiously to pundit’s comments

Some Tottenham fans on social media have laid into Roy Keane for his comments about Spurs ahead of the club’s 4-0 demolition of Burnley yesterday.

Keane told Sky Sports that Tottenham are an average team without Son and Kane, insisting that they would finish mid-table at best.

The Former Manchester United man also questioned the quality of Sergio Reguilon, suggesting that Real Madrid would not have let the left-back leave if he was good enough.

That sparked a row between Jamie Redknapp and Keane, with the former Spurs midfielder insisting that the North Londoners have enough quality to challenge at the top.

Even after Spurs demolished Burnley 4-0 and moved to within six points off a top-four spot with a game in hand, Keane insisted that Jose Mourinho’s men had no chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League.

Some Spurs fans on social media felt that it was a clear case of anti-Tottenham bias from Keane and pointed out that many players from the Lilywhites’ starting eleven would walk into the Manchester United side.

Spurs Web Opinion

I really do not think Keane’s comments are worth get angry over because unlike the likes of Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher or Jermaine Jenas, Keane never really makes insightful points as a pundit. He is employed by Sky Sports to make brash and sensationalist statements like this one so that they get eyeballs on the show.
