Some Spurs fans have urged the club to reject Barcelona’s rumoured offer for Tanguy Ndombele this summer, despite his poor form of late.
Ndombele has struggled to make an impact during his first season in North London and there are question marks over his fitness, especially in the demanding Premier League.
Sky Sports reported on Friday that Barcelona are ready to offer the midfielder an exit route from North London in the summer. The report claimed that the Catalans had identified the Frenchman as their top midfield target.
It was said that Barcelona were willing to offer Samuel Umtiti and Nelson Semedo to Spurs in a part-exchange deal for Ndombele as they cannot afford to buy the Spurs star outright.
However, some Spurs fans are adamant that the club should reject Barca’s offer out of hand. It was clear from the responses that some fans expect Ndombele to be a completely different player next season.
We would be absolutely insane to sell Tanguy Ndombele.
He is the exact player we have been crying out to replace Mousa Dembele and you can’t simply write him off after six months.
Players from different leagues take time to adapt, he is a special player and we would regret it.

Depends on Ndombele’s thoughts and attitude towards Mourinho and the club
Im sure they are positive – he’s had a rough ride but he will come good AS LONG as he improves his physical aspect. He has the rest to succeed here
However Levy may look at the deal in a different way

No. Umtiti is made of glass and not anything too special anyway. Semedo I like but he alone is not enough.

Absolutely not

100% no

NO – Not under any circumstances whatsoever.
If we sell Tanguy Ndombele now we will regret it for years to come. Every player needs time to settle and adapt to a team.
He will become a star for Spurs in time & Josè Mourinho is showing him tough love to make him a better player.

Nope!

No way. Tanguy will be world class

No way

Not in any reality
— Martin (@martmyte) April 24, 2020
Arthur and Coutinho then yeah. Umtiti is way too injury prone and Semedo isn’t great

Spurs Web Opinion
I can understand why fans want Ndombele to stay as he clearly showed enough glimpses of his talent this season to prove that he has it in his locker to dominate games from midfield. However, the decision should depend on how committed the Frenchman is to turning his Tottenham career around. If Mourinho doesn’t think the former Lyon man is 100 per cent committed, then I’m sure he will want to move him on.
