‘Absurd fake news’ – Report provides alleged response from Conte’s camp to PSG rumours

Antonio Conte’s entourage have allegedly rubbished reports of the Tottenham coach having contact with PSG or making a list of demands to the club’s hierarchy, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Times linked Conte with the PSG job this week, with current manager Mauricio Pochettino reportedly on the verge of being sacked by the club.

The Italian has allegedly ‘offered himself’ to the newly-crowned Ligue 1 side on a two-year deal (Le Parisien). RMC Sport also claimed Conte had made a series of demands to PSG, including a wage increase and control over transfers.

However, a fresh report from Gazzetta dello Sport notes that Conte’s camp have dispelled such rumours and played down talk of an exit from North London.

It states the rumours regarding the 52-year-old are simply examples of ‘absurd fake news’, while there has not been any contact with any other clubs away from Tottenham.

Conte is in the midst of an intense battle for a place in next season’s Champions League, with Spurs currently chasing down rivals Arsenal in the Premier League.

He is also said to have made plans regarding his squad ahead of next season, having decided that up to six transfers would be needed to improve the quality of his side (Telegraph).
