Paulo Fonseca confesses that he is a big fan of Tottenham’s Heung-min Son, with the AC Milan boss stating that he offers something unique in the modern-day game.

Tottenham’s leader and biggest superstar
Even though there are many talented players currently at Spurs, no one can match the star power of a certain Mr Heung-min Son.
The South Korean is now an undisputed legend at the club, having racked up 250 goal contributions during his nine-and-a-half years in North London.
Despite being a world-class player, the 32-year-old is very much a team-man, who never shies away from his defensive duties.

Paulo Fonseca’s confession about Heung-min Son
It is that part of Son’s game that Fonseca loves, with the Milan boss pointing out that there are not many forwards in world football who know how to defend.
The Portuguese coach said in his recent press conference (via Milan’s official channel): “Who are the box-to-box players today? Everyone in football today must know how to both attack and defend. Son, Tottenham’s winger, is a box-to-box [player].
“One associates box to box with central positions, but [every player on the pitch can be] box to box.”

Fonseca nearly had the chance to work with Son
Fonseca could have potentially had the chance to work with Son as it is well-documented that he came close to becoming Tottenham’s head coach back in 2021.
The former Roma boss was one of the leading candidates to take over that summer before Nuno Espirito Santo eventually got the job.
In fact, Fonseca even admitted to The Telegraph that he had reached a full agreement with Spurs before the club’s former managing director, Fabio Paratici, changed his mind.
