Harry Redknapp - Tottenham Hotspur Football News

Harry Redknapp admits Tottenham are in no position to match Carlos Tevez’s wages.

The Argentina striker is embroiled in a row with Manchester City and over his reported refusal to to come on as a substitute against Bayern Munich and has been fined two week’s wages.

Tevez is on a reported £200,000 a week and is valued at around £30million – his wages alone are at least twice as much as Tottenham’s current top earner.

“Would I like him? Yes. Anyone would like him. He is a fantastic player,” Redknapp said.

“He is an amazing player. When he plays no one gives more than he does. He works his socks off, he runs, he chases, he plays, he tackles and he scores goals.

“He is the full package when he plays so I don’t think there are too many teams who wouldn’t like him.

“Affording him is a different matter. That’s the problem. We couldn’t afford him really.”

  1. This story has come up every week since Tevez threw a strop on the city bench. Getting boring now, not that it wasn't boring first time round.

  2. We can afford him, Levy has a personal fortune of tens of millions.
Im disgusted today, I just heard Arsene Wenger is adding an L to the end of his first name and doing it by deed poll.
