Shakhtar Donetsk star Manor Solomon, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, is keen on a move to the Premier League, according to his agent Ronen Katsav.

Solomon has developed into one of the top talents in Ukrainian football since joining Shakhtar from Maccabi Petah Tikva in 2019.

The attacking midfielder, who can also play on either flank, has scored four times in 16 league appearances this season and his current contract at Shakhtar runs until December 2023 (Transfermarkt).

TEAMtalk reported in October that Tottenham were ‘keeping a close check’ on the 22-year-old ahead of the January transfer window.

Sport5 then revealed last month that Sassuolo were interested in signing the Israeli international but the player’s preference was to move to England.

Solomon’s agent has now confirmed that his client will leave Shakhtar in the near future and is keen on joining either a La Liga or Premier League club.

Katsav told Sport 5 about the attacking midfielder’s future: “The fact that Manor has not signed a new contract in Shakhtar, it says everything about his future.

“The priority is an English or Spanish league. Manor is only 22 years old and has a long way to go.”

If Manor does move to the Premier League, it will probably be a lower midtable club that will likely pursue him. At this point in time, the 22-year-old is not quite at the level needed to attract interest from the big six.

While Tottenham do need a number eight, they will likely have to aim for players of a higher calibre than Solomon if they are to re-establish themselves as Champions League regulars under Antonio Conte.
