Agent admits Spurs rumoured target wants ‘a new challenge’ next season

Former Tottenham striker Frederic Kanoute, who is the agent of rumoured target Patson Daka has said that his client is ready to undertake a new challenge after this season.

Daka was rumoured to be one of the strikers on Tottenham’s radar last summer before the club instead moved to sign Carlos Vinicius on a season-long loan deal from Benfica.

It was reported at the time that the 22-year-old wanted to spend another season in Austria and continue his development with RB Salzburg before making a big move.

The Zambian international has filled the void left by Erling Halland since the Norwegian’s departure, having found the net 30 times in 33 appearances in all competitions this season.

West Ham have also previously been linked with a £25m move for the Salzburg star and reports from Austria claimed last month that Daka was likely to leave Jesse March’s side in the summer.

Kanoute has now confirmed that the striker is ready to test himself elsewhere.

When asked about Daka’s future, he told Sky Sports Austria: “I think it’s time for a new challenge at the end of the season.

“He really got going this season. He is developing almost daily.”

Spurs Web Opinion

As Tottenham have found out over the last four or five years, not many top young strikers would be intent of coming to North London knowing that they would likely have to play second fiddle to Kane. That is why we have been forced to shop in the second-tier market for the likes of Janssen, Llorente and Vinicius. I do not see that changing this summer.
