Agent claims reported Spurs target is happy at his current club

Back in February of this year, it was reported that Tottenham, Leeds United, West Ham and Southampton were all interested in Sampdoria’s Mikkel Damsgaard.

The 20-year-old winger has impressed this season, just a year after moving to Sampdoria from Nordsjaelland.

His lightning-quick pace and potent end product has been a fixture of Italian football this past year, while Damsgaard had also shone on the international stage, scoring a brace in the recent 8-0 thrashing of Moldova for Denmark.

Of course, Spurs have a history of signing promising Danish midfielders, with Christian Eriksen and now Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg shining in North London.

However, any hopes of signing Damsgaard this summer may have taken a hit for the Premier League clubs said to be circling him, with the player’s agent revealing that he is happy at Sampdoria.

Jens Orgaard Pedersen told CalcioMercato that his client is excited for the adventure ahead with his current team in Serie A.

He said: “Do Inter and Juventus like him? I prefer not to comment on the market rumours.

“At the moment I can only say Mikkel is happy at Sampdoria and is totally focused on his adventure in Genoa.”
