Agent claims Tottenham have reached out regarding his centre-back client

The agent of Radu Dragusin has now confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur have held discussions over a move for his client.

It has been well documented over the last two months that signing a centre-back is Tottenham’s number one priority in January (GiveMeSport), with Ange Postecoglou himself confirming a few days ago that the club need reinforcements at the back (Sky Sports).

If reports over the last couple of weeks are to be believed, Dragusin has now emerged as one of the names at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist.

TEAMtalk claimed on December 11 that Spurs are ready to step up their pursuit of the Romanian international, who is thought to be valued by Genoa at around £26m.

This was also backed up by Calciomercato a few days ago, with the outlet stating that the Lilywhites have ‘come forward with conviction’ for the 21-year-old and could make a ‘concrete’ offer over the coming weeks.

Dragusin’s agent confirms interest

The centre-back’s agent, Florin Manea, has himself now confirmed that Spurs have reached out regarding a deal for his client.

Manea said that while Deagusin is not desperate for a transfer in January, he does expect the centre-back to leave Genoa in next month’s transfer window.

He told ProSport (as relayed by Sport Witness): “With Tottenham, there was only a discussion about Radu. There is interest from them, we will see what will happen in the next period.

“That is why I say that an important step will follow for Dragusin. And there’s one more thing, he’s not desperate to transfer [to another club]. He just wants to play well. He can do it after Euro 2024, but I still think he will leave in the winter.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Dragusin’s agent has been extremely vocal in the media over the past couple of months and seems to be desperate to drum up interest in his client. I suspect that Tottenham’s interest in the 21-year-old might be being deliberately played up by Manea as a means to get other sides to potentially bid for the defender.
