Agent gives his verdict on whether Antonio Conte could return to Italy

Agent Giocondo Martorelli has claimed that Antonio Conte wants to ‘finish his cycle’ at Tottenham and that the Italian is unlikely to return to Juventus for the time being.

There has been plenty of speculation over Conte’s future in recent weeks within the media, with reports from Italy suggesting that he could be open to returning to Juventus when his contract with Spurs runs out at the end of the season (Calciomercato).

Alasdair Gold confirmed on Football.London a couple of weeks ago that Tottenham can activate the option to extend Conte’s contract anytime that they wish.

When quizzed about his future, the Tottenham head coach insisted in his press conference on Thursday that he is in no rush to extend his deal and that he does not need a new contract in order to be committed to the club (Football.London).

Martorelli has now cited the financial power of Spurs and the Premier League as a reason why Conte might be reluctant to swap North London for Turin.

He told TuttoJuve about the 53-year-old: “I think he wants to finish a cycle that has just started in England.

“I think he also knows the economic possibility of the club and therefore the possibility of satisfying him.

“I don’t think he can think about a return to Italy, also because at the moment the Premier League is the best.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Given Juventus’ financial situation, Conte will know that he cannot build the kind of squad he wants at the Old Lady. On the other hand, he is getting to do just that at Spurs, and has some world-class players at his disposal.

I do not see how Conte will be tempted to jump ship as long as the Tottenham hierarchy continue to back his vision.
