Agent makes claim about Conte’s plan for Harry Kane and Dusan Vlahovic

Former Italian defender Massimo Brambati, who now works as a football agent, has revealed that Antonio Conte wants to pair Harry Kane and Dusan Vlahovic together.

Vlahovic is one of the hottest properties in world football at the moment. The Serbian is on fire in front of goal for Fiorentina, notching up 20 goals in 24 games across all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Gazzetta dello Sport reported last month that Conte had asked the Spurs hierarchy to prioritise signing the Serbian international.

However, over recent weeks, Arsenal have emerged as the frontrunners for the striker’s signature, with the Gunners thought to be working to sign him before the January window closes (The Athletic’s David Ornstein).

According to The Daily Mail, the Gunners have not been put off by the 21-year-old’s wage demands and Fiorentina’s bumper asking price for the centre-forward.

Arsenal are reportedly trying to offload Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has fallen out with Mikel Arteta due to a disciplinary breach (Sky Sports).

While Vlahvoic could thus be the number one striker at Arsenal should he move to the Emirates, that might not be the case for the Fiorentina man at Spurs, with Harry Kane still at the club.

Brambati has suggested that Tottenham are not looking at Vlahovic as a replacement for the England captain, insisting Conte wants to pair the two strikers together.

When asked where the Viola striker would end up, he told TMW Radio (as relayed by TuttoJuve): “There is also Tottenham. Without Kane? Conte wants them together”.

Son is almost as important to Tottenham as Kane is and so, Vlahovic (or Kane) would likely have to play slightly out of position if Conte wants the Serbian as part of his front three.

Perhaps, the Italian is planning on using Kane and Son as a number tens behind the Fiorentina man.

It certainly will not be straightforward to fit all three into the side, which is why I suspect Vlahovic will think twice before joining Spurs unless Kane leaves.
