Agent names two La Liga stars on Tottenham’s summer transfer shortlist

British agent Haydn Dodge has claimed Tottenham could make a move for Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak if they are unable to get their hands on Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou.

Multiple publications have reported over recent months that Tottenham are expected to sign a successor for Hugo Lloris in the summer, with Premier League goalkeepers like Jordan Pickford, David Raya and Robert Sanchez alleged to be on the North London club’s wishlist (Daily Mail).

Over the last few days, multiple Spanish publications have suggested that Antonio Conte’s men are also eyeing Bounou as a potential target for next summer.

AS reported a few days ago that the Lilywhites enquired about the 31-year-old during last month’s transfer window while La Razon subsequently suggested that Spurs are willing to use Bryan Gil as a makeweight to land the Morocco international in the summer.

Dodge has now asserted that Bounou is Tottenham’s top target to replace Lloris and he added that he expects the Premier League club to also explore a deal for Oblak.

The agent told CaughtOffSide: “A change of goalkeeper is inevitable. Hugo Lloris is 36 years old and with inconsistencies and injuries creeping into his game, Spurs have already started looking for a new number one.

“I know Sevilla’s Yassine Bounou is right at the top of their list so I expect them to try and do something there in the summer. I’d also expect Jan Oblak to come into the picture considering Spurs’ strong relationship with Atletico Madrid.”

Oblak will have five years left on his contract at Atletico in the summer (Transfermarkt). I cannot see Spurs paying the £50m-plus that it would take to sign the Slovenian, particularly when younger and cheaper options like Pickford and Raya could be available.
