Agent of reported Spurs target reveals client wants to join Manchester United

The agent of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has revealed the Lazio midfielder wants to join Manchester United this summer, with Tottenham also reportedly interested in a transfer.

Milinkovic-Savic has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Europe over the course of his Lazio career and has produced another strong campaign this season.

In 34 Serie A appearances, the Serbia international has recorded 10 goals and 11 assists (Transfermarkt) to help keep Lazio in contention for a European spot next term.

He is contracted at the Stadio Olimpico until 2024, but a movement towards the end of his deal could see the Italian side cash in on him in this summer’s transfer window (CalcioMercato).

Milinkovic-Savic’s strong displays have captured Tottenham’s interest according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, who claimed that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici are extremely keen on the 27-year-old and would consider a bid if they qualify for the Champions League.

But Spurs may have a challenge on their hands to sign the Lazio star, with his agent Mateja Kezman revealing United and Paris Saint-Germain are currently leading the chase to sign his client.

Former Chelsea striker Kezman also explained Milinkovic-Savic has named the Red Devils as his prime destination and is eyeing a move to Old Trafford ahead of the new campaign.

He told French outlet Foot01: “Sergej has no shortage of offers for the summer market. At the moment we have those from Manchester United and PSG.

“Sergej is focused on ending the season with Lazio, but wants to go to Manchester.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Milinkovic-Savic would be a dream player to bring in at Tottenham as he ticks a lot of boxes when it comes to a midfield option.

But his services, despite having two years remaining on his current deal, will have to come at a premium as Lazio will not be looking to lose him for a fraction of what he’s worth. It will also be tough for Spurs to acquire him now that he has named United as his ideal destination.
