Agent of reported Tottenham target admits his ‘phone rings all the time’

Amidst speculation linking Josko Gvardiol with a move to Tottenham, the centre-back’s agent, Marjan Sisic, has admitted that quite a few clubs have phoned him to ask about his client’s availability.

Gvardiol is widely seen as one of the best emerging central defenders in Europe, with the 20-year-old having shown maturity beyond his years since his switch to RB Leipzig 18 months ago.

The defender’s reputation has only grown even further in light of the solid displays he has produced at the World Cup so far.

Unsurprisingly, Gvardiol is reported to be on the radar of several clubs, with Tottenham and Chelsea thought to be in the front row for the player (Tuttosport) while Juventus and Inter Milan are also allegedly keeping a close eye on him (TuttoMercatoWeb).

Sisic has admitted it is no secret that the centre-back is a wanted man but he insisted that the Croat is fully focused on his task at hand in Qatar at the moment.

Gvardiol’s agent told CalcioMercato.it: “My phone rings all the time, it’s not a secret. But it has been ever since he stepped into an important stage, playing for the first team of Dinamo Zagreb.

“But I repeat, we are in no hurry: Josko is 100% concentrated only on the next match. Now he is only thinking about the one against Belgium.

“Josko is not the type of person who likes to make long-term plans. For him, the most important thing is always his next training session and next match.

“I’ve been his agent since he was 14 and our agenda has always been the same: take it one step at a time, move forward slowly but in the right place and at the right time. The future goal for him is Thursday’s match and, after that, training on Friday (laughs).”

Spurs Web Opinion

The rumoured Tottenham targets who are still at the World Cup, including the likes of Gvardiol, Weston McKennie, and Jakub Kiwior, will likely be keen to avoid any distractions at the moment.

So, Paratici and co might have to wait until the end of the tournament or until their respective teams get knocked out before reaching out to the player’s entourage regarding a potential transfer.
