Agent of rumoured Spurs target admits he is talking to several PL clubs

Radu Dragusin’s agent, Florin Manea, has admitted that he is in talks with Newcastle United and several other Premier League clubs about a potential transfer for his client in January.

Dragusin’s reputation has grown considerably over the last 18 months, with the centre-back having an impressive campaign on loan at Genoa last season, with the Serie A club subsequently taking up the option to sign him permanently from Juventus in the summer.

The Romanian has hardly put a foot wrong so far this season and it appears as if he has now emerged on the radar of several top clubs.

The defender has been linked with a move to Tottenham in the past, with Serie B News even claiming earlier this year that the North London club were closely following his progress.

Manea has now confirmed that Newcastle are interested in singing Dragusin but he made it clear that the Magpies are far from the only Premier League side he has spoken to.

Should Spurs try to sign Radu Dragusin?

He further explained that Genoa are demanding €30m (£26m) for his client, which is not a fee that Serie A clubs can afford at the moment.

Manea told Fanatik: “The chief with whom I made (the transfer of Gabriel) at West Brom is now at Newcastle. We have known each other since 2009.

“(Ashworth’s Newcastle) are watching (Dragusin), but so are other big clubs in England. There’s no official offer yet, but it’s coming.”

“Genoa doesn’t want to sell him now but, in the summer, yes (they will let him go) if they get the price they want for him.

“Genoa want 30 million euros. They said directly. I don’t think there is anyone in Italy who would pay this amount of 30 million euros.

“I talked about the Premier League, I talked about Newcastle. But they are not the only ones. There are several teams I am talking to.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Dragusin does tick a lot of boxes for the Spurs, given his age, his one-on-one defending and his recovery pace. However, the 21-year-old was seemingly a Paratici and Gabbiani target. There is nothing to suggest that he is someone that he is still being eyed by the Lange-Postecolgou regime.
