Alessandro Bastoni’s agent has revealed the centre-back will not be leaving Inter Milan this summer after holding a meeting with the club’s hierarchy (Matteo Moretto).
While the defender was named as Tottenham’s first-choice target for the left-sided centre-back role, it was always reported that Bastoni wanted to remain at Inter Milan (Football.London’s Alasdair Gold).
Some reports had claimed that Inter Milan could force Bastoni out the door to sign their own targets this summer (The Evening Standard), but his agent now appears to have dismissed that idea.
90 Min even suggested Bastoni had told Inter Milan that he wanted to leave and reunite with Conte in North London.
Speaking after Italy’s 2-1 win over Hungary this week, Bastoni told RAI Sport (as relayed by Sempre Inter): “I have a two-year contract with Inter. I’m very calm about it.”
It is likely that the Italian defender knew he was likely to stay put, which his representatives have now confirmed – quoted as saying, “He will definitely stay at Inter.”

I expect Tottenham to now push for Pau Torres and use Lo Celso as part of the deal to get an even better price. The way Paratici works, he always has a list of choices to choose from so Spurs will be able to move on quickly.
