Agent of Spurs-linked Piero Hincapie confirms transfer interest in his client

The agent of rumoured Tottenham target Piero Hincapie has revealed that AC Milan have shown interest in signing the Bayern Leverkusen centre-back this summer.

Hincapie has been a revelation in his first season in the Bundesliga following his move to Leverkusen from South America 12 months ago.

The 20-year-old, who is allegedly valued at £34m, is thought to be one of the left-sided centre-backs on Tottenham’s radar this summer (The Sun).

When asked this week about Tottenham’s interest in the Ecuador international, Leverkusen’s director of sport Simon Rolfes pointed out that the centre-back has a long contract at BayArena (Kicker).

Ekrem Konur reported today that Tottenham are set to make an opening bid of £25m for the young centre-back.

Revolo journalist Marcos Duran subsequently revealed on Tuesday that both Spurs and Milan had spoken to Hincapie’s representatives regarding a summer transfer.

While Sierra has now confirmed Milan’s interest in his client, he made no mention of Tottenham. He also added that the young defender is happy at the Bundesliga club.

Sierra told StopandGoal.com: “Piero is very happy at this moment at Bayer Leverkusen and in general in Germany.

“I can confirm there is interest in him from Milan, but at the moment he is talking to Bayer in order to understand how they can continue to grow together.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Reliable sources like Alasdair Gold and Charlie Eccleshare have not mentioned Hincapie’s name as a top target for the left-sided centre-back role this summer.

If Spurs have admitted defeat on their pursuits of Bastoni and Gvardiol, I would expect the North London club to push ahead with a move for Pau Torres over the coming weeks.
