Agent of Spurs-linked player admits PL clubs want to sign his client

Amidst speculation linking Valencia’s Giorgi Mamardashvili with a move to Tottenham, the goalkeeper’s agent Levan Seturidze has admitted that his client is attracting interest from Italy and England.

Lloris’s current contract with Tottenham runs out in the summer of 2024 and reports over recent weeks have indicated that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have already held talks over a succession plan for the 35-year-old (Evening Standard).

One man who has been mooted as a potential replacement for the Frenchman is Mamardashvili, who Tottenham were credited with an interest in during the summer transfer window (Marca).

The 21-year-old has made an impressive start to the season, making the number one shirt at Valencia his own, and the print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (20/10/22 via Sport Witness) claimed this week that Juventus were watching the goalkeeper and were ready to challenge Tottenham for his signature.

Seturidze has now confirmed that the Georgian international is attracting interest from the Serie A and the Premier League, and left the door open to a potential transfer next summer.

Mamardashvili’s agent told Calciomercato.it: “Many important teams are watching him and we have found interest from them, not only from Italian but also English teams.

“For now our goal is Valencia and he must do his utmost to grow even more. As for the 2023 summer transfer market, however, many things can change but for now, he is the starting goalkeeper of Valencia.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I can understand why Tottenham would be looking towards the future and scouting a replacement for Lloris, given that the Frenchman is in the twilight of his career.

However, the Spurs captain has not lost any of his shot-stopping ability and I see no reason why he cannot continue to be our number one for another two years.
