Agent of Spurs-linked star denies reports he is about to sign a new contract

Youssoufa Moukoko’s agent Patrick Williams has confirmed that the rumoured Tottenham target is not going to sign a new contract with Borussia Dortmund yet.

Moukoko has been one of the standout attackers in the Bundesliga so far this season with ten goal contributions in 14 league games (Transfermartk), which is why many were left surprised that the forward did not get more minutes at the World Cup for Germany.

Tottenham’s interest in the 18-year-old first came to light last month when 90 min reported that the Lilywhites had sent scouts to Germany to watch him in action this season.

The report added that Antonio Conte’s men could face competition from around Europe for Moukoko, whose contract is set to run out next summer.

Williams has now revealed that although he is still in contact with Dortmund regarding a new deal, the reports of an agreement being reached are false.

Moukoko’s agent told Sky Germany: “I can confirm that we are not yet about to sign a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund.

“I can also assure you that the numbers that are circulating are simply not correct and Youssoufa was never offered that way. But we are still in contact with Borussia Dortmund and will see what the next few days bring.”

The same Sky Germany report also presents the latest update provided by transfer expert Marc Behrenbeck on the teenager’s future.

The journalist suggests that Chelsea are the frontrunners to snap up Moukoko in January and adds that the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Newcastle have also expressed an interest in the Dortmund starlet.

Spurs Web Opinion

I doubt if Tottenham would have registered an interest in Moukoko’s signature as Antonio Conte is not likely to be after a centre-forward in January. The Spurs boss would probably prioritise signing a winger who is adept at playing on the right to cover for Kulsuevski as Bryan Gil will leave on loan.
