Agent offers update on the future of Ajax player previously linked with Spurs

Ajax right-back, Sergino Dest, who has been linked with a move to Spurs is also a target for both Bayern Munich and Barcelona, according to his agent.

Dest has been in terrific form this season since breaking into the Ajax side, managing five assists for the reigning Eredivisie champions in twenty league appearances during the campaign (transfermarkt.com).

The 19-year-old has been on Tottenham’s radar for a long time with reports suggesting that Spurs wanted to bring the teenager to North London last summer before he even became a regular in the Ajax side (Bleacher Report).

The Lilywhites are said to have had a £17million offer for the full-back turned down by Ajax during the January transfer window (De Telegraaf).

Calcio Mercato have backed Spurs to return for the USA international’s services this summer while Bayern are also said to be interested in the right-back (Sky Sports Germany).

Dest’s agent, Joes Blakborn has revealed that Barcelona are looking at the full-back as a replacement for Nelson Semedo while also confirming Bayern’s interest but he admitted that they are yet to receive a concrete offer on the table for Dest.

Speaking to Voetbal international, Blakborn said: “It [interest from Barcelona] is not yet concrete.

“They have not officially reported to me or Ajax. However, information has been provided in the past. Sergino is one of the full-backs in Europe that they are following. He is an option should Nelson Semedo leave. But I think Sergino is an option for more clubs.

“Bayern Munich still want to take Sergino from Ajax, but at the moment both parties are still far apart. We can’t do anything about that at the moment.”
