Agent reveals Spurs player set to leave in January

The agent of George’s-Kevin Nkoudou has revealed that the winger is likely to leave Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Nkoudou has failed to make an impact under Mauricio Pochettino since his £10.9million (ITV) since from Marseille in July 2016.

The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Burnley, has become something of a forgotten man at Spurs.

His spell with the Clarets was equally disappointing as he failed to break into their side on a regular basis.

He was widely tipped to leave Tottenham during the summer transfer window after being linked with a host of clubs on the continent, but still finds himself currently experiencing a setback in his career in London.

His agent has suggested that the reason why the player did not depart in the summer was down to Daniel Levy’s reluctance to let him leave for a transfer fee that did not meet Tottenham’s expectations.

Nkoudou has played less than half hour of first team football this season after coming on as a substitute in the Carabao Cup win at West Ham United.

His agent, Meïssa Ndiaye told France Football: “The president and the owner of Tottenham are not the easiest to seduce in the transfer window. The fact that he did not leave is only the responsibility of the club. Things could not succeed for economic reasons, but it was not a drama either.”

He added: “The idea is to leave in January. Both sides want to move forward and turn the page.”
