‘Ajax I am sure is on their mind’ – Arsenal legend predicts whether Spurs will clinch top four spot

It was a good week to be a Tottenham Hotspur fan in the Premier League, as the Lilywhites took a huge step towards securing Champions League football next season.

Not only did Spurs grab a late winner against Brighton on Tuesday, but Arsenal lost twice this week, as did Man United, and Chelsea dropped points at home to Burnley.

Spurs now find themselves three points clear of their nearest rivals Chelsea, and with a bigger goal difference than all three of their rivals.

Tottenham are also four clear of Arsenal and six ahead of Man United in the table with just three games remaining this season.

Spurs may need that lead, however, as they still have two crucial legs against Ajax in the Champions League semi-final to contend with, meaning Pochettino may want to rest certain players in the Premier League.

However, Arsenal legend Ian Wright believes Tottenham will have no problems finishing in the top four.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live (23/04/2019 at 10:00 pm), Wright said: “You kind of look at the way Spurs are playing and you don’t really feel like there’s too much of a problem with them finishing in the top four. Obviously, they have to secure it because they have to unbelievable games coming up against Ajax which I am sure is on there mind.

“They can’t help but be like that. It’s the biggest game some of them are ever going to play in. I don’t expect Tottenham to not be amongst it with Arsenal or Manchester United with the way that they are playing, at the minute.”
