Ajax star speaks about his future amid Spurs and Man Utd rumours

Based on the reports so far this summer, it looks like Tottenham’s squad is set for a considerable rebuild this summer after two transfer windows of complete inactivity.

Among the players who are expected to leave the club this summer is midfield maestro Christian Eriksen (Ekstra Bladet), who recently confirmed his intention to seek a new challenge.

Tottenham have been linked with several replacements recently including Real Betis midfielder Giovani Le Celso (The Mirror) and Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes (Record).

One of the first players who Tottenham were linked with this summer was Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek (talkSPORT).

The 22-year-old has had a fantastic season for the Dutch giants and was one of the main driving forces behind their impressive campaign which saw them make most of Europe stand up and take notice with their Champions League efforts and also were successful in their own league, winning their first domestic double in 17 years.

The Dutch international, who scored against Tottenham in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final, is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League wants to join either Manchester United and Spurs according to talkSPORT.

Van de Beek has now spoken regarding the speculation surrounding his future. While he confirmed that he is happy at Ajax, he didn’t rule out a move away from the club.

According to the Mirror, the classy midfielder said: “My situation is I have a contract with Ajax and I am really happy.

“You never know what is going to happen in the future but I can say nothing about that.”

It certainly doesn’t sound like Van De Beek is ruling out a move, and it is very much possible that Ajax will let him go this summer if they receive a big offer.

While the 22-year-old is undoubtedly a major talent, if Tottenham are only going to sign one player to replace Eriksen, we would prefer it to be Le Celso.
