Timo Werner has just under two months left to prove himself at Spurs and earn a permanent move to the North London side. But, according to Alan Brazil, the German winger is not good enough and should think about becoming a pundit instead.
It is a rather surprising take, really, considering Werner has already contributed two goals and three assists in just ten games for Spurs in the second half of this season (Transfermarkt).
The RB Leipzig man joined Tottenham on loan during the January transfer window until the end of the campaign, and the switch could be made a permanent one if a £15m purchase option is activated by the Lilywhites.
His manager, Ange Postecoglou, has already praised Werner as a ‘great signing’ in a recent press conference (Football.London). Werner has also made a positive impact on his teammate, Brennan Johnson, who hailed the connection he is developing with the 28-year-old.

Werner assisted Johnson’s goal on Tuesday night, but it seems not everyone has been impressed by Werner, though, as Alan Brazil laid into the Spurs man in a recent appearance on talkSPORT.
Brazil said: “I was baffled [that James Maddison was taken off]. Take off one of the wide players [instead]. I’m sorry, Werner for me, he might as well sit here [in the studio]. I don’t want to be nasty, but just come and sit here — he’s nowhere near good enough to be top-class.”

I’m sorry but that’s just nonsense. Werner still has to improve, granted, especially when it comes to his finishing, but there is no denying he has had a positive impact at Spurs. He’s creating chances, he’s pressing with energy, and he’s a player I’d be happy to see sign for us permanently.
