Alan Pardew admits he would have loved to manage one Tottenham star

Alan Pardew says he would have loved to have worked with Son Heung-min, suggesting that the Tottenham star is a manager’s dream.

While Son has been one of the best attackers in the Premier League over a number of years, there were a few murmurs last season about whether he was past his best.

However, the South Korean has well and truly dispelled those suggestions this campaign, having stepped up in a major way since the departure of Harry Kane last summer and taken on more responsibility.

The 31-year-old has scored 15 times and provided another nine assists in 28 Premier League matches so far in 2023-24 (Transfermarkt) while he has also showcased his leadership qualities since being handed the captain’s armband last summer, being quite demanding of his teammates.

Alan Pardew would have loved to work with Heung-min Son

Every single manager who has worked with Son at Spurs, including Ange Postecoglou, has had nothing but good things to say about him and Pardew admitted that he would have loved the chance to work with the forward.

He told talkSPORT (8:45 pm, April 7, 2024): “I saw some stat this week about the Asian top goalscorer by some considerable margin now, isn’t he? I love him as a footballer. I would love to have managed him.

“Can you imagine managing someone like him? He is such an easy kind of person to manage. You have to admire, of course, the way he plays.”

Son certainly is a manager’s dream as he is consistent, hard-working, professional, always fit and extremely low maintenance.

Every single coach in world football would love the chance to work with players like him and Harry Kane, who always put the team’s needs ahead of their own despite being superstars.
