Several outstanding performances for Spurs

There were some outstanding performances from back to front for Tottenham, with the Lilywhites showing how dangerous they can be when they are at their best.

The display did help banish some of the ghosts of the second half at the Amex Stadium, with many of Spurs players justifying Postecoglou’s decision to stick with almost the same starting eleven.

However, one player stood heads and shoulders above the rest, continuing his renascence in his new role.

Dejan Kulusevski causing havoc

The player in question is Dejan Kulusevski, who once again worked his socks off and pulled the Hammers midfielders and defenders out of position by picking up the ball in different areas of the pitch.

The Swede constantly drove at the opposition whenever he got the ball, including for his well-taken equaliser, which came at a crucial moment of the game for the North London side.

Shearer named Kulusevski in his Team of the Week, writing in Premierleague.com about the 24-year-old: “He continued his terrific form, causing havoc and getting on the scoresheet. The best player on the pitch.”

Alan Shearer impressed with another Spurs star

One change that Postecoglou did make from the Brighton game was his decision to start Yves Bissouma over Rodrigo Bentancur in the number six role, with Shearer remarking that the Mali international justified the selection.

Bissouma too found a place in his Team of the Week, with the Newcastle legend writing about him: “An all-action display from the Spurs midfielder, who justified his place back in the starting line-up, scoring the second goal.”
