Alasdair Gold claims Spurs defender could be ruled out of Leicester clash

Alasdair Gold has said that Sergio Reguilon might not recover from his injury in time for Tottenham’s clash against Leicester on Thursday.

Tottenham’s Europa Conference League clash against Rennes and Premier League match against Brighton had to be called off following an outbreak of Covid-19 at the club last week.

According to reports, there is some optimism at Spurs that their clash at the King Power Stadium would go ahead as first-team players continue to return to the training field after isolating.

Conte has admitted that some of the players who returned from isolation are not fit to play against Leicester.

Reguilon is an injury doubt after coming off in the 22nd minute of Tottenham’s 3-0 win against Norwich with a thigh problem.

The Spaniard took to social media after the game to insist that the injury is not serious and that that he will be back in action in a ‘few days’.

However, according to Gold, Reguilon could miss the game against the Foxes as the left-back has not returned to training after the injury.

Gold said on his Youtube channel (as relayed by HITC): “I am told that Sergio Reguilon is not fully training yet after that one (his injury against Norwich), he is on his way back but I just wonder if Thursday might come too soon.”

Spurs Web Opinion

In all likelihood, Reguilon, if he is not fit for tomorrow’s clash, will hardly be the only regular starter missing from Conte’s starting eleven at the King Power Stadium.

It will likely be a weakened side and the Italian might have to fit some square pegs into round holes depending on who is available.
