Alasdair Gold claims Spurs ‘will make a move’ for 27-year-old this summer

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur hold a concrete interest in Marcel Sabitzer.

Sabitzer was linked with a move to Spurs during the January transfer window but the midfielder ended up staying put at RB Leipzig.

Multiple sources have backed the North Londoners to make a summer approach for the Austrian at the end of the season.

It has been suggested that Leipzig are open to selling the 27-year-old, who would have just a year left on his contract with the Bundesliga club at the end of the campaign.

Reports indicate that Spurs could face competition from Manchester United and Liverpool for the versatile midfielder.

Gold has now confirmed that Sabitzer is a player Spurs have admired for a long time and the club will look to take advantage of his contract situation to swoop for him when the transfer window opens.

However, he also states that the Lilywhites could face some serious competition for the Austrian international.

Gold adds that Spurs have to sell some players in order to raise transfer funds for Sabitzer, as well as their other targets.

Spurs Web Opinion

Sabitzer is the most obvious option to replace Dele Alli since the Austrian looks increasingly likely to leave Leipzig. We are desperately in need of more goals from midfield and the 27-year-old is certainly capable of getting into double digits.
