Football London’s Alasdair Gold has reported that Tottenham want to bring in at least two new signings in the January transfer window to bolster Antonio Conte’s squad.
It’s been a while since we have talked about the Premier League due to the World Cup break, but Spurs currently sit in the top four and are back in action on Boxing Day against Brentford.
While Conte will have to make do with what he already has for that match, including the returning players from Qatar, he will have the chance to welcome some new faces in after the new year.
This is sure to be a rather unique January transfer window due to the injuries and fatigue associated with the World Cup, and it appears Spurs are looking to be active in the market.
Gold reports that Conte wants to ‘bolster his defence and attacking creativity’ while also looking at any opportunities to upgrade fringe players with higher-quality stars.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I expect Tottenham to sign a new central defender or right-wing-back, perhaps both, as well as a creative spark in midfield. I also expect two or three players to be loaned out in January to make room in the squad, perhaps the likes of Bryan Gil and Japhet Tanganga.
