Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham want to secure a centre-back within the next few days and asserted that Fabio Paratici was the man who first alerted the North London club to Radu Dragusin’s talent.
He states that Tottenham want to quickly add reinforcements in central defence in the ‘opening days’ of the window before Micky van de Ven is expected to return for the clash against Manchester United.
Gold backs up what we have heard from other sources by stating that Nice are reluctant to sell Jean-Clair Todibo and Spurs are thus having to move on to an alternative to ensure that they are able to bring a defender through the door swiftly.
Paratici recommended Radu Dragusin to Spurs
The journalist points out that it was Paratici who initially took Dragusin to Juventus in 2018 and says that the Romanian was on Tottenham’s radar even when the Italian was the club’s managing director of football.
He explains that Paratici is still involved in a consultancy role with Spurs and while his influence might waned since Johan Lange’s arrival, the club would still be leaning on the 51-year-old’s Serie A experience when required.
Gold makes it clear that it is Ange Postecolgou who has the final say on incomings and reveals that the Australian is an admirer of both Todibo and Dragusin.
Spurs Web Opinion
All signs over the last few days are that Tottenham have moved on from Todibo and turned their attention to Dragusin and Gold appears to be confirming the same in this report.
It sounds like Postecoglou wants the Romanian to arrive this week so that he can have a full week of training ahead of the club’s trip to Old Trafford.
