Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has said that Tottenham cannot afford to waste time if they want to appoint Julian Nagelsmann, as the German coach is also on the radar of Real Madrid.
Since it emerged that Bayern Munich are set to part ways with Nagelsmann, multiple outlets have reported over the last 24 hours that Spurs are now been alerted by his availability.
Football Insider reported yesterday that Nagelsmann’s availability is viewed by Spurs as a ‘game-changer’, with the North London club now expected to make contact with the 35-year-old.
This was also backed up by The Telegraph, who claimed yesterday that the German coach has an affinity towards Tottenham and even owns a Spurs replica shirt.
The report added that the Lilywhites first tried to appoint him back in 2021 as Jose Mourinho’s replacement and could now make another attempt to do so.
Gold has now explained that Nagelsmann is expected to be held to his contract for the time being, which indicates that Bayern believe he will quickly find another job, thus saving them the need to pay compensation.

He thus asserts that Tottenham cannot afford to hand around if they harbour hopes of bringing Nagelsmann to Hotspur Way.

I have no doubt that Nagelsmann would have instantly shot up to the top of Tottenham’s wishlist as soon as he became available.
However, that does not mean that we are guaranteed to get the German as he would perhaps want to wait until the summer and assess the various offers that come his way.
