Alasdair Gold has refused to rule out the possibility of Conor Gallagher completing a late move to Tottenham but the journalist made it clear that something would have to change significantly for the move to go through before tomorrow’s deadline.
Over the last few weeks, a whole host of journalists have suggested that Daniel Levy might be biding his time until the final days of the window and could launch late offers for Gallagher to test Chelsea’s resolve (Dean Jones – GiveMeSport).
However, with a little over 24 hours left until the deadline, there is no sign of an impending offer from Tottenham at the moment.
Various publications have continued to talk up the possibility of Spurs making a move for the midfielder, with The Times claiming on Tuesday that Ange Postecoglou’s men are ‘seriously considering a renewed approach’ for the 23-year-old, with Chelsea alleged to be willing to part ways with the player.

Conor Gallagher to Spurs is unlikely in the next 48 hours
Gold has now suggested that the Blues are indeed open to cashing on their academy graduate for the right price, the fee they are looking for is higher than what Tottenham would want to pay.
The journalist asserted that unless something drastically changes before tomorrow’s 11 pm deadline, Gallagher looks set to remain at Stamford Bridge.
Gold said on his YouTube channel: “Conor Gallagher situation, that’s been rumbling on for so long. Spurs are going to keep an eye out and see if there’s any late opportunity to sign him in the window.
“Right now, it’s looking unlikely. Let’s be honest, 23-year-old – he’s captaining Chelsea in every game at the moment, he’s playing almost every minute in every game for Chelsea right now.
“He wants to stay, Pochettino wants him to stay at Chelsea and sees him as a key part of the future at Chelsea. But yet, there’s still this suggestion that because of the Financial Fair Play stuff, Chelsea would accept the right price for him.
“I would stress, that the right price sounds like it’s very high. It doesn’t sound like the kind of value deal that Spurs would probably normally go for, especially as the fact he’s only got 18 months left in his contract.
“There has been talk about that he’s maybe had some discussions over a contract of some kind. But yeah, I think something would have to significantly change in the next couple of days for Conor Gallagher to end up coming anywhere near Tottenham Hotspur.”

If this deal was going to go through, it was always going to happen at the dying stages of the window, with Levy seemingly planning on taking advantage of Chelsea’s financial situation.
I would not be surprised if Spurs do launch an offer for Gallagher before tomorrow’s deadline but I suspect it will be in the £35m range, which is unlikely to be enough to persuade the West London side to sell the player.
