Alasdair Gold makes surprising claim about Alejo Veliz already at Tottenham

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Alejo Veliz is settling in nicely at Tottenham Hotspur and has already become a vocal member of the squad.

Given the injuries that Tottenham are currently dealing with, Ange Postecoglou has had to turn to Veliz, with the 20-year-old coming on as a substitute in the wins over Liverpool and Luton Town.

Gold has explained that while Postecoglou had initially planned to ease the striker into the first team, his displays in training have led to his development being ‘fast-tracked’.

The journalist asserted that the Argentine has settled in well to his new surroundings, having already become a ‘vocal and enthusiastic member’ of the group.

Gold revealed that Veliz was taking part in a game of keepy-uppy with some of the substitutes ahead of the clash at Kenilworth Road, where he appeared to have some good comradery with the likes of Emerson Royal and Giovani Lo Celso.

Finally, the journalist stated that there is ‘a sense’ at Spurs that if the youngster gets more opportunities for the first team, he is going to grab them with both hands.
