Alasdair Gold names Harvey White’s most likely destination – Six clubs were interested

Alasdair Gold has reported that Harvey White is now most likely to join Derby County on loan from Tottenham Hotspur for the rest of the 2022/23 season.

The journalist added that as many as six clubs were interested in the Spurs academy graduate this month, but it appears Derby are leading the chasing pack, as things stand.

This comes after Football Insider reported this week that four clubs from England were in pursuit of the talented and versatile young midfielder, although Derby were not actually named.

It was said to be a race between Championship duo, West Bromwich Albion and Luton Town, and League One pair, Oxford United and Barnsley.

White has been on the bench three times for Spurs this season in the Premier League under Antonio Conte and was even handed a four-minute cameo against Crystal Palace in the 4-0 win.

White was also on the bench for all but one of Tottenham’s Champions League group-stage matches (TransferMarkt).

Spurs Web Opinion:

Players like White who have made the leap from academy to first-team training need to then make the next step. If Conte has no place for him in the squad, then consistent minutes must be found elsewhere. Derby sounds like a great loan for him, but a full-season loan would have been better.
