Alasdair Gold names surprise Spurs player who appeared the fittest in brutal Conte training drill

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Troy Parrott appeared to be the fittest Tottenham player in Antonio Conte’s running drills towards the end of their open training session in South Korea.

Spurs have been getting ready to take part in the Coupang Play Series as part of their pre-season plans after travelling out to Asia at the weekend.

The club held an open training session in front of a large crowd at a sweltering Seoul World Cup Stadium on Monday, where Conte and fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone put their Spurs players through two hours of gruelling drills.

Renowned for his brutal pre-season training methods, the Italian forced the group to take part in shuttle runs towards the end of practice, which Gold claims left a host of players on the field collapsed with exhaustion.

But the journalist noticed returning loanee Parrott emerged as one of the last men standing and led the remaining players at the front of the pack for the final lung-bursting sprint of the session.

The 21-year-old striker is likely to be keen on impressing Conte over the summer to try and work his way into his plans for the season after a strong spell with MK Dons last term.

Conte’s pre-season methods are pretty gruelling and we have noticed that wherever he has managed. It is interesting that Parrott was one of the last men remaining in the session but it is also not entirely surprising given he will be keen to impress Conte before the start of the campaign.
