Alasdair Gold names three Spurs youngsters fans should ‘keep an eye on’

Alasdair Gold has stated that Tottenham fans should look out for the progression of young forwards Dane Scarlett, Troy Parrott and Kion Etete.

The Spurs academy has developed a number of products in recent seasons which has seen the likes of Harry Kane and Harry Winks establish a regular presence in the senior squad.

Japhet Tanganga found himself promoted during Jose Mourinho’s tenure while Oliver Skipp secured a spot in Antonio Conte’s side following a strong spell on loan at Norwich last term.

But there are a handful of talented forwards coming through the ranks at present, which Football.London correspondent Gold says Spurs fans should keep an eye on.

He named 17-year-old striker Scarlett as one to watch as well Parrott and Etete, who are both enjoying positive spells on loan at League One sides MK Dons and Cheltenham respectively.

In an Ask Me Anything session on Reddit, Gold wrote: “There are huge hopes for Scarlett as long as he keeps his head down and keeps working hard.

“Parrott is having a really good season of development at MK Dons and keep an eye on Kion Etete, who is tearing it up at Cheltenham.”

Parrott has recorded six goals and six assists for the Dons in 32 appearances this term (Transfermarkt) while Etete, who flourished at Northampton and Cheltenham this season, has recorded eight goals and five assists across all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Meanwhile, Scarlett has been in and out of the Spurs first-team squad and was brought on late in place of Heung-min Son in the 4-0 thrashing of Leeds a fortnight ago.

Spurs Web Opinion

There is plenty of attacking talent coming through at Spurs so there shouldn’t be any concerns about forwards in the future, providing their development continues at a good rate.

Scarlett is the youngest of the trio so it is best he remains with the youth teams for now, while it is imperative that Parrott and Etete, both 20, continue to build up their senior experience.
