Alasdair Gold names two managers who ‘tick’ the boxes for Spurs are looking for

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has named Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter as the two of the managers who tick the boxes that Tottenham are looking for in their next managerial appointment.

Almost a month on from Jose Mourinho’s sacking, we are barely any closer to finding out who the replacement is likely to be, as reflected by the constantly fluctuating odds.

Multiple sources have claimed that Brendan Rodgers is the club’s number one choice and despite the Leicester boss distancing himself from the Tottenham job a couple of weeks ago, Daniel Levy has seemingly not given up hope of landing the 48-year-old.

Gold previously revealed that Potter would be a popular appointment among the Spurs squad, with many players said to have been impressed by Brighton’s style of play.

The journalist has now stated in a Q & A that Spurs are looking for a progressive manager, naming the Foxes and Seagulls bosses as two of the leading contenders.

He said: “Spurs are certainly looking for someone who plays attacking football, possession-based football and using the cutting edge techniques of the sport.

“Obviously Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter tick those boxes but there are plenty of managers out there that do. The club are getting there with their search are expected to start talking to the candidates.”
