Alasdair Gold names two players he expects Spurs ‘to compete for’ this summer

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has claimed that he expects Tottenham to compete for the signatures of both Joachim Andersen and Marcel Sabitzer during this summer’s transfer window.

Centre-back is reportedly one of the priority positions that Spurs are looking to strengthen this summer, with the club already said to have enquired about the likes of Jannik Vestergaard and Jerome Boateng.

Andersen, who has put in an several impressive performances during his loan spell at Fulham this season, despite the Cottagers’ poor showing, is another name who is rumoured to be on the club’s radar.

Meanwhile, Sabitzer, who has just a little over 12 months left on his contract with RB Leipzing, has also been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham.

Sources from Germany have claimed that the Bundesliga club will be looking to cash in on the Austrian international this summer..

Gold has now revealed that Tottenham have been tracking Andersen and Sabitzer for quite a while and has backed the club to make attempts to sign both players.

When asked about Spurs’ pursuit of the Lyon and Leipzig stars, the journalist said: “Both are players that Spurs like a lot. Again though it comes down to money and who they can sell to bolster funds this summer.

“They’ve lost a lot of money this year due to the pandemic and, barring the most miraculous set of results around them, they’re not going to have Champions League money next season.

“I do believe they will try to compete for both players’ signatures this summer, although of course, the new manager may come in and not want them which could change plans rather rapidly.

“They’re certainly players the club have watched for a number of seasons.”
