Alasdair Gold offers promising update on Tottenham’s striker search

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are now closing in on a striker and are confident of getting a deal completed before the transfer deadline on Monday.

Despite being extremely busy in the market so far, Spurs have not been able to secure a backup to Harry Kane with less than a week to go.

The Sun reported last week that Jose Mourinho was growing increasingly frustrated at the club’s failure to land a centre-forward.

If Gold is to be believed, the Spurs boss is now set to receive a big boost, with the club ready to push ahead with a deal for a striker.

The journalist does not name who the Lilywhites are after but does reveal that they have now narrowed down their search after exploring various different options including the likes of Andrea Belotti, Habib Diallo, Carlos Vinícius and Haris Seferovic.

However, he did add that Arkadiusz Milik is not the club’s main target, although the Polish international is said to have been offered to the North Londoners by Napoli (Fabrizio Romano).

Multiple reports are now suggesting that we are tracking multiple options, instead of having all our eggs in one basket. So, a repeat of the January transfer window, when we failed to land a striker in the final few days, seems extremely unlikely this time out.
