With a total of 12 players out on loan at present, it’s time to get a rundown of the winners and losers among those playing away from Tottenham Hotspur this season and see how they’ve been getting on over the last week.
Tottenham have an abundance of talent at the club, so much so that fringe players and youngsters have departed the club over the course of the season in order to find regular first-team football.
Some, like Eric Dier, Sergio Reguilon, and Tanguy Ndombele are out on loan looking to attract a permanent move away from Spurs, while promising young talent like Ashley Phillips and Alfie Devine are building their experience with a view to becoming part of Ange Postecoglou‘s senior squad.

Loan update on 12 Spurs players
In his regular column for Football.London, Alasdair Gold provides a roundup of all the ups and downs for the players out on loan right now, and we’ve charted their week from best to worst.
Sergio Reguilon: Played a full 90 minutes in Brentford’s 2-0 win over Wolves, and managed to bag an assist. His manager, Thomas Frank said: “He’s had two good games and there’s more to come from him, so I’m pleased.”
Joe Rodon: Another clean sheet and another three points for Joe Rodon and Leeds United, as the Yorkshire side continue to push for an automatic promotion from the Championship. In a review of the game from Leeds Live, Rodon is described as playing a “key role” in the win.
Matthew Craig: Played the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 win for Doncaster Rovers, and was praised by the Doncaster Free Press for a “cool and calm” performance in midfield.
Josh Keeley: Made his sixth straight start for Barnet and kept another clean sheet to help his side to a 3-0 win in the FA Trophy fifth round. Continues to draw plaudits for his displays in goal for the non-league side.
Ashley Phillips: Registered his first senior assist during the FA Cup fourth-round replay against Leeds, but was unable to prevent Plymouth from losing 4-1. Phillips then started in the league game against Sunderland, but also tasted defeat.
Alfie Devine: Started the game in a 3-1 defeat to Sunderland but found himself frustrated, having very little chance to exert himself on the match from midfield. However, Devine was praised for “putting in a good shift” with his team chasing the game.
Troy Parrott: Has been on fire of late, banging in goals and assists week in, week out, but Excelsior Rotterdam tasted defeat at the weekend. Parrott had a couple of chances, but was unable to prevent a 3-0 drubbing against Twente.
Tanguy Ndombele: Despite getting a full 90 minutes in the cup in midweek, Ndombele managed just two minutes on the field at the weekend. However, Galatasaray are winning games, so there’s that at least.
Djed Spence: Has been praised of late for his versatility in filling in at both right-back and left-back, with a “mostly favourable” consensus among Genoa fans. However, after a run of three starts, Spence was on the bench this weekend as his side lost 4-1.
Alejo Veliz: Yet to make his Sevilla debut due to injury, but is rapidly approaching his return to fitness, and has mentioned that he is “feeling very comfortable and very happy” with the situation out in Spain.
Eric Dier: It was not a good weekend for Bayern Munich, as they fell to a 3-0 defeat to title rivals Bayer Leverkusen and lost pace at the top of the Bundesliga. However, Dier was not personally responsible for any of the goals, not that it would be much consolation.
Japhet Tanganga: The good news is that Tanganga is finally playing regular football. The bad news is his Millwall side are yet to win with him in the team, and he even gave away a penalty in a 2-1 defeat to Coventry at the weekend.
