Alasdair Gold provides transfer update on Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are more likely to cash in on Davinson Sanchez than Eric Dier this summer.

Fabio Paratici seems to be prioritising revamping the central defence, with Spurs thought to be in advanced negotiations with Atalanta for Cristian Romero.

The North Londoners are also allegedly interested in the likes of Fiorentina’s Nikola Milekovic, Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma and Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu, with some sources claiming that Paratici would like to sign two new centre-backs.

Toby Alderweireld became the first senior centre-back to leave the club this summer, with Tottenham confirming on Tuesday that the defender will be joining Qatari club Al-Duhail SC.

Davinson Sanchez has also been linked with a move away from Spurs, with the North Londoners allegedly ready to include the Colombian as a makeweight in deals for Romero as well as Sevilla’s Jules Kounde.

Gold has now claimed that the 25-year-old is more likely to depart than Dier since he is a more sellable asset.

The journalist said on his YouTube Channel (as quoted by TBR Football): “Spurs, I was always told, had the intention of trying to get two new centre-backs.

“It will depend now on whether Davinson Sanchez goes. He is the one you’d imagine – out of him and Eric Dier – that is more likely to move on.

“Purely because there’s more of a market for Sanchez. He was at the Copa America and played decently. Sevilla are interested and there’s a couple of others around Europe are.

“If he was to move out the door then Spurs would start looking at other players on the list.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think it is just a question of Sanchez attracting more interest than Dier.

I am sure that there will also be plenty of interest in Dier if Tottenham put him up for sale and that the England international could command just as big a fee as the Colombian.

I think it is more a case of Paratici and Nuno deciding that Sanchez is not reliable enough to be part of their plans.
