Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Hugo Lloris is not close to reaching an agreement over a new contract with Tottenham as things stand.
Lloris’ current contract at Spurs runs out at the end of the season but some sources have recently backed the North Londoners to offer the club captain a new deal.
The Athletic reported recently there is a ‘quiet confidence’ that the club will be able to agree on a new deal with the 35-year-old while Football Insider stated the goalkeeper is settled in London and wishes to commit his future to the club.
Gold has now revealed that talks regarding a new deal for the Frenchman are yet to move in the right direction.
However, the journalist added there is willingness from all parties to reach an agreement, with Antonio Conte thought to be keen to keep hold of the Tottenham number one.

Lloris has displayed his loyalty to the club over the last decade and there is no reason to think that he would make unrealistic demands. So, I expect the goalkeeper’s contract situation to be sorted out sooner rather than later.
