Alasdair Gold provides update on Spurs plans for Oliver Skipp next season

Alasdair Gold from Football London has revealed that Oliver Skipp is not expected to be loaned out by Tottenham again next season.

The academy graduate enjoyed an impressive loan spell with Norwich City last time out, playing all but one of their Championship games in a title-winning season.

However, it appears that the Canaries are unlikely to sign him for another year as Gold reports that Spurs and Nuno Espirito Santo want him at the club for the new season.

Norwich also recently signed Billy Gilmour on loan from Chelsea, a youngster who plays a similar role to Skipp, perhaps indicating that he will be his replacement for next season.

The report also claims that Skipp is still recovering from his metatarsal fracture, which was sustained at the end of last season, and Nuno is looking to continue the 20-year-old’s rapid development when he returns from injury.

Spurs Web Opinion:

If we didn’t know it already, the Euros has shown us just how good and how important Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is. I believe that Skipp is the closest thing we have in terms of a replacement and will play a back-up role to the Dane next season.
