Alasdair Gold provides update on Tottenham’s pursuit of Adama Traore

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that there is still a ‘small gap’ in Tottenham and Wolves’ valuations of Adama Traore.

Traore’s proposed move to Tottenham has seemingly been gaining steam over the last week, with reports now indicating that the winger has agreed on personal terms with Spurs ahead of a move (Fabrizio Romano).

Football Insider then reported on Friday that Tottenham’s offer of an initial £20m for the Spaniard, along with £2.75m of performance-related add-ons, had been accepted by Wolves.

However, Gold has now contradicted that claim, stating that a final fee is yet to be agreed.

The journalist explained that the talks are continuing between the two clubs over a deal and the gap in their respective valuations is narrowing.

He further revealed that Spurs managing director of football Fabio Paratici has a good relationship with Traore’s agent Jorge Mendes, having previously tried to take the winger to Juventus.

Finally, Gold claims that there is ‘confidence’ within both clubs that a deal would be concluded for the winger.

Spurs Web Opinion

The general reaction from the Spurs fan base to Traore’s seemingly imminent signing seems to be quite lukewarm, particularly due to doubts over the Spaniard’s end product.

However, I am quite excited about the 25-year-old’s arrival as I believe playing him at right wing-back would add a new dimension to our attack.
