Alasdair Gold has now reported that Mauricio Pochettino is not a current candidate for the vacant head coach role at Tottenham Hotspur, despite reports.
The Sun reported yesterday that the Argentine had emerged as a potential new manager for the Lilywhites.
The report claimed that Pochettino was seriously considering a return to North London as he is unhappy in Paris.
It also added that Levy had told friends that sacking the former Spurs boss was his biggest mistake, while Pochettino informed those close to him of his desire to return to Tottenham.
This comes after Jose Mourinho, the man who replaced Pochettino at the helm in November 2019, was sacked in late April and Ryan Mason’s interim tenure came to an end against Leicester City on Sunday.
Despite this, Gold has claimed that Spurs are pushing forward with their recruitment in the next 7-10 days. He added that while Pochettino is not a current candidate, that would change if he is sacked by PSG.
On Poch, understand Spurs are pushing on with recruitment process, hoping to appoint within 7-10 days. Poch is not currently a candidate, but if his situation changes at PSG and he showed interest, he would come into the frame. Let’s be honest, the ideal candidate profile is him.
