Alasdair Gold reports when Postecoglou will officially begin work at Spurs

Alasdair Gold has revealed via Football.London that Ange Postecoglou will officially begin his work at Tottenham from July 1 but the new Spurs head coach will be in dialogue with the club regarding various decisions until then.

Tottenham confirmed earlier today that Postecoglou had signed a four-year contract with the club, with the former Celtic boss creating history by becoming the first Australian manager to work in the Premier League.

In the announcement, Daniel Levy remarked that the 57-year-old brings “a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play” to the club and spoke highly of his “strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy”.

Gold has now confirmed that although the new Tottenham head coach does not officially begin his work at the club until next month, he will be consulted and involved in all football-related decisions from this point on.

This ties in with what The Times reported on Monday, with the publication stating that although the Spurs players will not return for pre-season training until the start of July, Postecoglou will start work immediately as he needs to reshape a bloated squad.

The official date of when Postecoglou starts his work is inconsequential as there is no doubt that the Australian will be locked in discussions with the club over the next few weeks regarding various decisions, particularly involving various incomings and outgoings this summer.
