Alasdair Gold reveals clause may be included in Danjuma loan deal

Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham’s loan deal for Arnaut Danjuma may include an option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season.

Tottenham were first credited with an interest in Danjuma a fortnight ago when The Daily Mail named the Lilywhites as one of four clubs who were interested in signing the Villarreal player

The report explained that the La Liga club were willing to send the winger out on loan this month after he had fallen out with many of his teammates.

However, the speculation linking Danjuma with a move to Spurs had died out after that and it looked until yesterday afternoon as if the 25-year-old was on his way to Everton.

That all changed during the late afternoon when Spurs reportedly hijacked the Toffees’ move for the Dutchman after he had already undergone a medical at Goodison Park and just before the paperwork was about to be sub, itted. (The Athletic).

Gold has revealed that as things stand, it looks like Tottenham could add an option to buy in the loan deal for the forward.

When asked if a permanent option will be included in the loan deal for Danjuma, the journalist responded in a Q&A on Football.London: “It’s still to be confirmed as negotiations are being finalised. At this current stage it looks like there may end up being one, although there’s been a few loans at Spurs in recent seasons where the option has dropped out late on in the process.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I suspect Spurs shifted their attention to Danjuma when they started having doubts over whether the Nicolo Zaniolo move would go through, particularly with some suggestions doing the rounds over recent days that the winger would prefer to remain in the Serie A rather than move to the Premier League.
