Alasdair Gold reveals Conte’s anger on the touchline at Spurs attacker

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Antonio Conte was furious on the touchline on Tuesday as he felt Bryan Gil did not go in strong enough for challenges.

With Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura ruled out with injury, Conte started with a front three of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Richarlison against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Gil was the only attacking option on the bench that the Italian could turn to, and the Spaniard was introduced on 79 minutes in place of Richarlison as Spurs went in search of a winner.

However, the Lilywhites could not find the back of the net and had to settle for a 0-0 draw, with Gil struggling to impact the game.

The winger was knocked off the ball several times during his brief cameo and Gold has now revealed that it led to one angry moment from Conte on the touchline.

The journalist stated that the Spurs head coach screamed at Gil and repeatedly slammed his fist into his palm at him, asking the 21-year-old to go in harder for the ball.

The winger allegedly seemed confused and reacted with his arm held outwards, which is said to have sparked another reaction from Conte, who shouted at the player again with the same hand movement.

Gil did not just get knocked off the ball too easily but his passing was extremely sloppy during his little cameo. That might be down to the winger trying too hard but so far, the 21-year-old has not shown enough to suggest that he is ready for regular Premier League action.
