Alasdair Gold reveals Djed Spence’s stance on potential move to Tottenham

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence ‘would be interested’ in a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

Spence has shone on loan at Nottingham Forest this season and reports indicate that Steve Cooper’s side are keen on snapping up the right-back in a permanent deal after winning promotion to the top flight (Sky Sports transfer centre, 30/5, 10:55 am).

The Telegraph subsequently claimed that Spurs are set to step up their pursuit of Spence but suggested Forest were hopeful the prospect of regular game time at the City Ground next season would help them beat the North Londoners to the 21-year-old’s signature.

Gold has now explained that, apart from Forest, Spurs also have to contend with competition from Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Newcastle, and Brentford for the England Under-21 international.

However, the journalist adds that the Lilywhties are one of the ‘front runners’ for Spence, with the player open to a move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs Web Opinion

I am confident that Spurs will be able to win the race for Spence as I believe that the 21-year-old can be convinced that he will get regular game time in North London next season. One would expect Tottenham to be having conversations with the right-back’s entourage to convey the same.
