Alasdair Gold reveals ‘key element’ of Conte’s work that has impressed Spurs players

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that some Tottenham players have been left impressed by the communication of Antonio Conte and his coaching staff during their first week in charge.

Conte has been quick to put his fingerprint on the Tottenham side, who lined up in a 3-4-3 against Everton on Sunday and looked much more defensively organised than they have so far this season.

According to reports, the Italian has also identified the player’s fitness as one of the aspects that needs immediate improvement and is set to put the squad through several double-sessions over the next two weeks.

It emerged a few days ago that the Tottenham players had been ‘blown away’ by the attention to detail in Conte’s training sessions in the 52-year-old’s first week at the helm.

Gold has now revealed that another key element the Spurs squad have been left impressed by is the former Inter boss’ communication skills.

The journalist reveals that Conte and his staff explain fully to every individual in the squad why they are or are not in the starting lineup.

Gold added that the players who do not make the team are also filled in on what their plans are for them in the future.

In many ways, this seems to be the opposite of what the Spurs players were getting under Nuno.

There were reports that the Portuguese coach and his staff were quite distant and rarely held one-on-one talks with players to let them know what was expected of them.

So, I am sure the players, especially the ones who are on the fringe, are much happier now that they are now given more clarity.
